Power in Jesus' name! | |
Christ gives us power and authority over them [serpents, scorpions, dragons, our enemies, adversaries, etc. = Satan and his followers; in His name we are given that power (the most important part to remember, “in His name”), no need to be afraid. We ask and give thanks to God “in His name” also. Where does Christ's power and authority come from? Doesn't come from a man. This is a KJV Bible study guide. Psalm 91:9-10, 13 (dragon = Satan); Matthew 6:13, 9:6 & 8, 10:1, 24:30, 28:18; Mark 2:10, 6:7, 9:41, 16:16-17; Luke 4:32 & 36, 5:24, 10:16-20; John 14:13-14, 15:16, 16:23-24; Acts 10:43 (His name, not some others name); Ephesians 1:19-23, 5:20; Hebrews 6:10 (toward His name), 13:15. Revelation 12:9 (The dragon and the serpent are who)? It becomes quite clear after reading the many scriptures above, plus so many others that cover this topic, we must believe in Him and His authority and power. He gives us the power to overcome all of our enemies. Not just some, but all of our enemies. No need to be afraid. Obviously, no mere human can have all the power of God. We are given the exact power we need to have. Authority = 1. Legal power, or a right to command or to act; as the authority of a prince over subjects, and of parents over children. Power; rule; sway. 2. The power derived from opinion, respect or esteem; influence of character or office; credit; as the authority of age or example, which is submitted to or respected, in some measure, as a law, or rule of action. That which is claimed in justification or support of opinions and measures. Power = 1. Force; strength; energy; as the power of the mind, of the imagination, of the fancy. 2. Faculty of the mind, as manifested by a particular mode of operation; as the power of thinking, comparing and judging; the reasoning powers. Please continue to study the Bible on your own.
