Hello, my name is Maddox, and I am from Lebanon. I am 30 years old, and for the past ten years, I have been the only provider for my family after my father passed away. I take care of my mother and four other family members. Life in Lebanon has always been filled with challenges, but nothing could have prepared us for the horrors we are facing now. The war between Lebanon and Israel has devastated our country, and the destruction of Beirut has left us with nothing. We lost our home, our livelihood, and our only means of surviving. The pain of seeing my family suffer and not being able to provide for them is overwhelming. What makes our situation even worse is that, throughout my life, I have faced severe discrimination because of my religious beliefs. I belong to a small spiritual minority, akin to Buddhism, and because of this, I have endured persecution from many Muslims who treated me as if I were their enemy. Even before the war, it was incredibly difficult to find work where I wouldn't be subjected to hatred and mistreatment. Islamic media channels, like Al Jazeera, have even aired programs that incited violence against people like me, encouraging hatred and division. The discrimination and now the war have taken everything from us. We are desperate, homeless, and struggling to find food. I am asking, from the depths of my heart, for any help you can offer.
