My name is Maddox, and I am a 30-year-old Lebanese man trying to keep my family alive amidst the destruction and chaos of war. I lost my father ten years ago, and since then, I have been solely responsible for my mother and four family members. Our lives were already incredibly difficult, but now, with the war between Lebanon and Israel, everything has fallen apart. Beirut, the city that gave us hope and work, has been destroyed, and we are left without a home or a source of income. We have no way to provide for ourselves, and every day, I fear for the lives of my loved ones. On top of these challenges, I have faced continuous persecution because of my religious beliefs. I belong to a minority spiritual community, which follows teachings similar to Buddhism. Because of this, I have faced relentless mistreatment from Muslims who hated me simply for being different. Even before the war, I struggled to find a job where I wouldn’t be treated poorly because of my beliefs. Poverty was always a part of our lives, and now, with the war, we have nothing left. Media outlets like Al Jazeera have even broadcast hateful messages, inciting violence against people like me. We have suffered so much, and now we are left with nothing. We are homeless, hungry, and desperate. I am asking anyone who reads this to please consider helping us. We need money for food, rent, and to survive this nightmare.
