Don’t let anyone deceive you! Matthew 24:4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. Matthew 24:5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. (See Mark 13:5-6 also. Many today are deceived about God’s word and they try and share that deception with you and others; remember, listen, then verify). This is definitely not the first time this warning has been given! God does not like those that come in His name and deceive others! The whole chapter 13 of Ezekiel is important. Ezekiel 13:6 They have seen vanity and lying divination, saying, The LORD saith: and the LORD hath not sent them: and they have made others to hope that they would confirm the word. Ezekiel 13:7 Have ye not seen a vain vision, and have ye not spoken a lying divination, whereas ye say, The LORD saith it; albeit I have not spoken? Ezekiel 13:8 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because ye have spoken vanity, and seen lies, therefore, behold, I am against you, saith the Lord GOD. (The LORD never sent them or told them what to say. He is against those claim to be sent by Him but are lying). How do you verify they are telling the truth? Try the spirits! 1 John 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. 1 John 4:2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: 1 John 4:3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. 2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. (Study God's Word and you will avoid deception. Be good workers; one who does not need to be ashamed and who "correctly" explains the Word of God to others. Follow the subject and object of each verse when you dissect and teach the Word of God. Study to show thy self approved unto God and His knowledge will come to you). 2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: (All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true. The truth will make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right). 2 Timothy 3:17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. (God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work. Be ready and able to do our Heavenly Fathers work). When someone says something is in the word of God, verify that it actually is by thoroughly studying His word yourself; listen, then verify.  | |
