Now, take a moment to think about the tragic events of 9/11. Imagine the sheer horror, the screams, the terror as the Twin Towers crumbled. Thousands of innocent lives were lost in an instant in this tragic events of 9/11. Families torn apart. People jumping to their deaths. The dust, the fire, the overwhelming despair. And for what? Could more lives have been saved if the government had acted differently? What if it were the daughter of a president in those buildings — would they have made a greater effort to prevent such a catastrophe? These are the haunting questions that linger. The pain of loss is unbearable, and yet, the world moved on while the victims’ families were left to suffer in silence. Governments, organizations, corporations — many of them fail the very people they exist to serve. Downsizing, job cuts, lack of support, and an obsession with maintaining their so-called integrity have led to the suffering and death of countless innocent individuals. Pregnant women, children, hardworking men and women, war veterans who once fought for their nations, only to be abandoned in their time of need.  | |
