Jeremiah 17!

This is a KJV Bible study guide.

Psalm 118:8 It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.
Psalm 118:9 It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes. (Princes represent people in government).

Jeremiah 17:5 Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.

[Many put their trust in man instead of God; they look for and seek the approval of man above the approval of God. Look at how many today that put their trust in some man or woman or a government instead of searching for the truth themselves. Don't be lazy and listen to a bunch of false teachers, hypocrites or lying politicians. God wrote you a personal letter, the Bible, to bring you out of bondage and into the freedom of truth. Study it like your soul depended on it. Will it be temporary or eternal? Smoking or non-smoking? Now that I think about it, your soul does depend on it].

Jeremiah 17:7 Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.

[This verse is very easy to understand. Trust in the LORD and seek His approval. A much better choice].

Romans 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against [all] ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;

[God will show His anger from heaven against “all” sinful, wicked people who suppress the truth by their wickedness, lying and deceit. Doesn't matter whether it is intentional or not. The result is the same. Beware of false teachers in the end times and beware of those in many governments around the world today]. (For more guidance see Matthew 24:4, Mark 13:5, Luke 21:8 and I Timothy 4:1-2).

Where do you place your trust concerning salvation and truth? Hopefully not man and his traditions. Again, your choice friend! There is only one way you can learn truth. Study all of His word and discover the truth for yourself. His word is truth, John 17:17. If you choose not to study the word of God you are setting yourself up to be deceived. Are you sure you want to be in that boat?

I fully realize it is difficult to impossible for some to trust in God. So many, including myself, have put their trust into other human beings in the past and we were disappointed at times by those we thought we could trust to include politicians. Thus, some remain reluctant to trust anyone due to past bad experiences with others. Sadly, their distrust of many other humans carries over and includes God. It is a reality, some humans will let you down; they can't be trusted. “Not so with God”. Trusting in God is totally different than trusting in man. The main reason we should trust God is that He is worthy of our trust. Unlike men, He never lies and never fails to fulfill His promises. See the following KJV Bible verses:

Numbers 23:19 God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

Psalm 89:34 My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.
Psalm 89:35 Once have I sworn by my holiness that I will not lie unto David.

Isaiah 14:24 The LORD of hosts hath sworn, saying, Surely as I have thought, so shall it come to pass; and as I have purposed, so shall it stand:
2Corinthians 1:9 But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead:
(Don't even trust yourself, but learn to trust and rely on God completely; He is our greatest consultant).
2Corinthians 1:10 Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us;
(He rescues us from mortal danger, and He will do it again and again. We need to put our confidence in Him).

Titus 1:2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;

Hebrews 6:18 That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:

Trusting in Him will never disappoint you; He is not a man; He cannot lie. He has a plan He never deviates from; you are part of it regardless of what you choose to believe.

There is only the Bible, the single source of power that will change our lives from the inside out. But it takes effort, diligent, everyday effort, to know the God who controls everything. If we drink deeply of His Word and let it fill our minds and hearts, the sovereignty of God will become clear to us, and we will rejoice in it because we will know intimately and trust completely the God who controls all things for His perfect purpose.
